I am so glad that Denise finally gave Neely Kate her own book, and more glad she had Jed as her side kick!!! I was mostly correct but I feel like I didn't get the 'power' of a few of the revelations, they would have been bigger 'omg' moments if I had read previous books, I am sure. But being with Neely Kate brings out a different side to him. Rose is less naive, she is able to look after herself, she is feisty, she has learned from her friend and from her underworld dealings, but she is still the funny, loveable, and more than a little crazy Rose. They are unpredictable; there is no way at all of knowing how each one will end, they are completely unique, heart-rendering, tear jerking, laugh out loud, witty, clever…. I never thought I would love Neely Kate as much as I do now. I'm also curious to know if having read this one will affect the way I react to NK in the Rose Gardner books--if at all.
